OVERVIEW

Ridley College is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics to join our Athletics leadership team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This position is designed for an experienced athletics professional who brings a high degree of operational expertise and leadership capability, and who thrives in advancing operational excellence, program effectiveness, and student-athlete experience within a dynamic school environment.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Director of Athletics plays a critical leadership role in the planning, coordination, and execution of Ridley’s comprehensive athletics program. The role is accountable for the effective day-to-day operation of competitive and recreational sport programming, including scheduling, events, travel logistics, facilities coordination, equipment management, and systems oversight, while ensuring compliance with school policies, league regulations, and risk management protocols.

The Assistant Director works closely with coaches, facilities staff, and cross-campus partners to deliver a safe, well-organized, and high-quality athletics experience. This includes providing operational guidance to coaching staff, supporting financial and budget processes, contributing to the planning and delivery of major athletic events and championships, and serving as a site supervisor when required to ensure continuity of operations and adherence to policy.

Athletics is a core component to Ridley’s holistic educational experience. This role will be deeply aligned with the College’s mission, values, and commitment to student well-being, long-term athlete development, and positive education. This role is well suited to experienced professionals currently managing athletics operations in independent schools, public secondary systems, or post-secondary institutions, who are seeking a meaningful leadership opportunity within a globally minded and focused educational community.

The successful candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and leadership capability to the role, including:

• A post-secondary degree in Sport Management, Physical Education, Business, or a related field.

• Three (3) or more years of progressive experience in athletics administration, operations, or program leadership within a secondary school, independent school, or post-secondary environment.

• Demonstrated success leading athletics operations, including scheduling, events, facilities coordination, travel logistics, budgeting support, and risk management.

• Knowledge of and experience coaching in CISAA, CAIS, OSBA, OWHA associations is considered an asset.

• Experience working in highly collaborative environments, building effective relationships with coaches, educators, administrators, and external partners.

• High-level understanding of physical literacy, long-term athlete development, and student well-being in school-based or post-secondary sport.

• Demonstrate sound judgment, a solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead with confidence in a high-performance, student-centred environment.

• Financial and administrative acumen, with experience supporting budgets, managing expenses, and maintaining accurate operational records.

• Proficiency with athletics management systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office 365, with the ability to leverage systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Current or ability to obtain required certifications, including First Aid, CPR/AED, and related safety training.

• With fluctuating workloads during peak competitive seasons, tournaments, and events, this role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in alignment with athletic schedules.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, the Director of Enrolment Management and Admissions plays a key strategic and operational leadership role in advancing Ridley College’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Working closely with senior leadership and supported by a dedicated Admissions team, the Director is responsible for the School’s comprehensive enrolment strategy across all divisions, programme types and domestic and international markets. This includes recruitment, yield, retention and long-range planning, as well as stewardship of the admissions experience from inquiry through enrolment.

At both a strategic and operational level, the Director provides leadership in setting and achieving enrolment targets aligned with Ridley’s mission, values and institutional priorities. The role includes oversight of the Admissions operating budget and leadership of Ridley’s tuition assistance programme, balancing access, affordability and long-term enrolment health.

As a senior ambassador for the School, the Director builds strong relationships with prospective families, educational partners and external stakeholders locally and internationally. They work collaboratively across Development, Marketing and Communications, Athletics and academic leadership to support enrolment and student success.

As the ideal candidate, you are a respected and strategic enrolment leader with a proven track record of success in admissions and enrolment management within a complex educational environment. OVERVIEW

If you are considering a career in education or have recently graduated, or you have experience working with young people as a coach, mentor or youth leader and/or have recent experience working in a boarding school environment, you are encouraged to submit your application for an Assistant Head of House (“AHOH”) position in the upcoming 26/27 school year.

Each of the Boarding Houses of Ridley is unique, but all are run by a highly motivated and dedicated House Team (Head of House, Assistant Head of House and Boarding Don). Built on a community-oriented philosophy, our boarding houses foster individual character development, promote personal growth, and inspire students to lead flourishing lives within a community. The boarding aspect of the Ridley education results in a student body that understands and believes in themselves, having developed “wellness for life”. 

An AHOH will share in the responsibility for the general welfare, safety, pastoral care and personal development of the boarding students (Grade 9-12).  These positions are actively working during an academic school year (late August to end of June).  This position is a two-year term commitment with options to extend for additional terms.  During each year, the AHOH will be required to provide supply teaching coverages in the Upper, Middle or Lower School. During the 2nd and subsequent years, 1 teaching section or equivalent may be provided for candidates with a Bachelor of Education degree.

The AHOH will be accountable for the following:

• Scheduled evening duty shifts from 7pm-12am (2 nights a week) and alternating weekends.

• Attend all House meetings and Chapel weekly.

• Advisor for Grade 9 students meeting weekly and following a set curriculum.

• Coach two terms of sport. This could include accompanying a team to tournaments, or games off campus during the evenings or on weekends.

When on duty, the AHOH takes full responsibility for the operation of the residence by ensuring curfew, bedtime and settling the house.  This also includes;

• Being visible and accessible to support and listen to the students, in order to develop a student-centred environment.

• Deal with any disciplinary problems in a firm, fair and caring manner.

• Work with the House Team to maintain a healthy routine of life for each student and ensure that standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene are met.

• Be knowledgeable of the various support resources available to the students at the school.

• Actively participate in House outings, events and activities and chaperone as needed.

• Partner with teachers, coaches, the Health Centre, the Learning Centre and parents in a respectful relationship to support each student.

• Be an ongoing champion for the social, mental, and emotional wellbeing of all students across the school program.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be a mature, confident adult who can take charge and lead by example, have a high energy level, can build a strong rapport with students, and have the ability to promote the values and philosophies of Ridley College. 

Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes required for this role as hours of work and the work week will vary in accordance with the coverage schedule for the boarding house, co-curricular activities this position oversees, and supply teaching coverages provided.

• Bachelor of Education graduate or teaching experience is ideal.

• Athletics coaching (e.g. rowing, basketball, rugby, hockey or other sport) and/or experience in the Arts would be considered an asset.

• Experience working with school age children 14 – 17 years of age.

• Self–starter, interested in the growth and development of our students.

• Must be globally minded and open to diversity of cultures at Ridley College.

• Demonstrate an empathetic, patient and nurturing disposition.

• Have excellent communication, listening, time management and mediation skills and be a collaborative problem solver and team player.

• Current certification for First Aid, CPR/Defibrillator, Mental Health and First Aid would be considered an asset.

OUR OFFER

This position will be provided with a one bedroom apartment attached to the boarding house, along with a meal plan for the duration of the contract. Accommodation and meals will be considered a taxable benefit. The role is a replacement vacancy offered as a 10-month contract with a salary of $28,000.  Additional compensation is provided for supply coverage.

OVERVIEW

Ridley College is seeking a Manager of Retail Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of Hank’s Campus Store and the Sewing Room. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer, this role is responsible for staff leadership, customer experience, merchandising, and financial oversight within a dynamic school environment. RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organize, and oversee year-round operations for the Campus Store and Sewing Room.

Lead, coach, and support full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.

Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and service-oriented environment for students, families, and colleagues.

Establish, document, and continuously improve operational processes and workflows.

Oversee merchandising strategy including product selection, pricing, in-store displays, inventory planning, and the online storefront.

Analyze sales trends and historical data to inform purchasing decisions and identify opportunities for sustainable revenue growth.

Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and oversee purchasing of merchandise and sewing room supplies.

Prepare and manage annual budgets; oversee daily transactions, cash controls, reconciliation processes, and internal reporting.

Ensure accurate inventory reporting and support year-end audit processes.

Coordinate retail, sewing, and concession support for major school events such as Homecoming and Graduation.

Build constructive working relationships with faculty, administration, and departments across the School.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education in business, operations management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience leading retail or multi-service operations in complex or evolving environments.

Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, scheduling, and staff development.

Strong working knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, customer service practices, and point-of-sale systems.

Experience with financial oversight including budgeting, reconciliation, and internal reporting.

Experience supporting or overseeing e-commerce operations considered an asset.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-interruption environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse community.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, ambiguity, and seasonal operational demands.

Physical ability to meet the demands of a retail environment, including lifting, climbing ladders, and being on one’s feet for extended periods.
