OVERVIEW

Ridley College is seeking a skilled and collaborative Theatre Technician to support the delivery of high-quality performances and events across our campus. Working within the Theatre & Presentation Services team, this role is critical to ensuring seamless production support for a wide range of activities—from student performances to major school events. This posting is for a full-time, one-year contract and an existing vacancy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Support the technical setup, execution, and tear-down of performances, events, and campus activities

·       Assist with lighting, sound, rigging, and stage operations, including installation, programming, and maintenance

·       Perform stage carpentry, set construction, and scenic installation using a variety of power tools, hand tools, and theatre-production equipment

·       Support rigging activities and work safely at heights using ladders, catwalks, and aerial work platforms in accordance with established safety procedures

·       Provide audio-visual support, including livestreaming and event recording

·       Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and organization of theatre and presentation assets to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational

·       Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and external rental groups to deliver professional event experiences

·       Ensure all work is completed in alignment with safety standards and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

·     Diploma in Theatre Production, Theatre Technology, Technical Theatre, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered

·     Minimum 2 years of relevant technical theatre or event production experience

·     Experience with theatrical lighting, sound, projection, and stagecraft, including installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment

·     Experience with stage carpentry, set construction, and the safe operation of power tools, hand tools, and theatre-production equipment

·     Working knowledge of tools such as QLab, livestreaming platforms, and basic networking systems

·     Knowledge of theatrical rigging practices and the ability to work safely at heights using ladders, catwalks, scaffolding, and aerial work platform

·     Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, event-driven environment

·     Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong client-service mindset

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Spanish Tutor for this upcoming school year, who is knowledgeable and qualified to assist students who are studying literature in the Spanish language. Tutoring sessions may be one-on-one or in a small group setting. All tutoring will occur on the Ridley campus in our Learning Centre. 

Job requirements:

• First-language or fully fluent speaker of the Spanish language;

·       Meet with students, as needed, over the course of the year (at student discretion and based on tutor availability);

• Sessions most often take place at the conclusion of a literary work and near major assessments due dates;
• Converse with students about literary texts studied in the course;
• Offer the student feedback on first language oral and written work;
• Help assess mock oral examinations in collaboration with the subject supervisor;

·       It is expected that the tutor will have read the works studied by the students and be familiar with the course expectations;

·       Communicate with the family, Learning Strategies teacher and classroom teacher on a consistent basis;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 year of post-secondary education in the related field of study 
• Knowledge of teaching techniques and learning styles
• Tutoring experience is an asset
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ability to travel to Ridley College for student meetings
• OCT considered an asset

OVERVIEW

Ridley College is seeking an Associate Director of Enrolment and Admissions to play a key leadership role within the Admissions team. Reporting to the Director of Enrolment Management & Admissions, the Associate Director serves as second-in-command within the department, providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to the Admissions team while also managing an individual portfolio of prospective students and families.

This role is ideal for an experienced admissions professional who combines strong people leadership with a highly relational approach to student recruitment. The Associate Director will help drive enrolment goals, support admissions strategy and decision-making, and ensure prospective families receive a timely, personalized and engaging experience throughout their journey with Ridley.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, training and support to Assistant Directors and Admissions Officers, including leading weekly team meetings and supporting the team in achieving established enrolment goals.

·       Manage a portfolio of prospective students and families, providing timely and personalized communication from initial inquiry through registration.

·       Conduct applicant interviews and evaluations, assess applicants using established admissions criteria, and make admissions decisions consistent with Ridley’s mission and values.

·       Work closely with the Director of Enrolment Management & Admissions to support departmental strategy, priorities, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Use admissions data and key metrics to evaluate recruitment strategies, identify trends and opportunities, and inform decision-making.

·       Ensure the Admissions team has timely and relevant information regarding enrolment capacity, available spaces and wait pools.

·       Communicate with prospective families regarding admissions decisions and provide a supportive, professional experience throughout the admissions process.

·       Serve as an active member of the Tuition Assistance Committee and contribute to tuition assistance management and strategy.

·       Collaborate with the Communications team to support admissions marketing and outreach strategies, including digital and print materials and information sessions.

·       Represent Ridley positively and effectively at recruitment, marketing and community events, including domestic and international recruitment activities.

·       Build strong relationships with prospective students and families, colleagues and other key stakeholders to support recruitment and enrolment objectives.

·       Remain current on emerging trends and best practices in admissions and enrolment management through professional learning and networking with other schools.

·       Support other Admissions initiatives and projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, business or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.

·       Minimum of five years of progressive admissions experience, including demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within an independent school or similar educational setting.

·       Experience with tuition assistance management and strategy.

·       Strong knowledge of admissions practices, processes and standards, with experience using admissions software and CRM tools.

·       A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze recruitment strategies, identify successes and opportunities for improvement, and recommend appropriate actions.

·       Knowledge of education systems in Ontario and internationally.

·       Familiarity with marketing principles, demographics, statistical research and standardized educational testing.

·       Knowledge of admissions criteria and standards at Canadian and American universities is considered an asset.

·       Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage prospective students and families and build relationships across a diverse community.

·       Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and support a team while fostering collaboration and accountability.

·       Ability to represent Ridley professionally and positively at domestic and international recruitment events.

·       Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally and participate in occasional evening, weekend and activities during school holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the bus in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life;
• Follow all relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
• Perform safety and maintenance checks of the bus pre-trip and post-trip;
• Advise the Transportation Coordinator of any requirements for maintenance or repairs;
• Pick up and deliver students as per a set schedule;
• Ensure students are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers;
• Make note of any behavioural or disciplinary issues;
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

·     Meet the minimum age requirements to hold a school bus driver’s license in the province of Ontario;

·     Hold a class B license;

·     Must hold a valid (non-probationary) driver’s license for Ontario;

·     Possess a very good driving record;

·     Must undergo pre-employment drug testing with satisfactory results and comply with our random drug check policy for student safety;

·     Must be safety-minded, courteous and able to demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of customer service;
